Well, It's Happening Again
We are getting screwed by the people who are supposed to be watching out for us....
I have been told St. Louis is a baseball town. So far, I guess that is true, although lately it's not a very happy baseball town. There have been some other things happening here as well that aren't very encouraging. Some of them relate to sports directly, others take an indirect path before inevitably ending up there. What am I talking about? I'm talking about St. Louis Development Corporation choosing a company named "Kea Point Solutions" to assist the city and SLDC take advantage--I mean assist the city in recovering as much land from residents that it can. Seriously, this is not a selection of someone who has helped St. Louis prosper in any way. This is who you select when the tornado didn't do enough damage to the city to case everyone to leave so it can be divided up and sold off to developers.
Kea Point Solutions is essentially one person, Russell Halliday. Halliday currently lives in New Zealand and has for some time. According to the City of St. Louis website he left sometime in 2018 and whether he returned here since then is not known to this author. STORY You can see by the excessive smiles in these photos, SLDC was very happy with the performance of Halliday. What did he do for St. Louis? He assembled parcels of land for the NGA project, and made residents think they had some ounce influence over what was going to happen through the lie that was Project Connect. The truth is, NGA was always going to happen and it wasn't going to be up to anyone in North City where it was and wasn't going to be built. More to come...
